On Fernado de Noronha, two types of diving can be done: self-contained, with air tanks, and free dives (skin diving). Spear fishing is entirely prohibited. For self-contained divers there are 3 local firms which basically offer two services:
- Beginning Dives - 1 tank dive completely assisted by our Dive Master, complete equip. and transfers
- Experienced Dives (certified divers)- 2 tanks, weight, transfer, boat and Dive MAster Guides speak english, french and german.
There is also: - boat tour on the "baia dos golfinhos" (dolphin's bay) - and island tour by buggy
Cabeço Submarino:
Depth: from 4 to 20 meters.
Skill level: intermediate Obs: Sloping wall surrounded by a feeding area for turtles (green and hawksbills). Seldom visited.

Cagarras:
Depth: from 8 to 30 meters. Skill level: intermediate Obs: Rocky area close to Rata Island

Ilha do Frade:
Depth: from 10 to 23 meters. Skill level: intermediate Obs: Large beams of rock around the Frade Island. Turtles and sharks on the southern side.

Ilha do Meio:
Depth: from 8 to 13 meters. Skill level: novice Obs: Rocks and swim-throughs. Cave filled with lobste

Iuias:
Depth: from 8 to 24 meters. Skill level: advanced Obs: Large rocks filled with caves and swim-throughs. They shelter big snappers and groupers. Often a big shark or a turtle.

Navio do Leão:
Depth: 10 meters. Skill level: novice Obs: Steamer sank in the 30's. Shaft, boilers and other parts can be observed.

Pedras Secas:
Depth: from 12 to 17 meters. Skill level: intermediate Obs: 3 reefs with rocky canyons. Filled with grunts, ocean triggers, jacks and barracudas.

Pedra da Sapata:
Depth: from 2 to 43 meters. Skill level: advanced Obs: Rocky spire rising from 43 m to the surface. In the chamber below, often a big jew-fish or a bull-shark.

Ponta da Sapata:
Depth: from 14 to 27 meters. Skill level: intermediate Obs: Black cliff with long beams of rock. Cathedral-like cave (height 15 m). Chimney in the back.

Pontal do Norte:

Depth: 45 meters. Skill level: advanced Obs: Deep dive through the primal blue. Expect encounter large pelagic fish.

Ressureta:
Depth: from 6 to 13 meters. Skill level: novice Obs: Dive in the channel between two Islands

Corveta V17:
Depth: from 42 to 63 meters. Skill level: advanced Obs: Brazilian navy ship, sank 1983. Totally intact, sits upright, drips with colour. A very special deep dive.

Our local operator is the best dive center in Fernando de Noronha. RSTC Standards. Multilingual staff: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese.  Noronha is a National Park, ruled by Ibama (the Brazilian Environmental Dept
No fishing, no diving knife are allowed.  Passengers should be prepared to pay a daily diving tax at the National park.
