Tijuca Forest offers a contrast between the "Stone Jungle" and tropical forest, right in the middle of a city. There are many places to visit including: "Cachoeira dos Macacos" (Monkeys Waterfall); "Vista Chinesa" (Chinese View), a great spot for taking pictures; the "Mesa do Imperador", where the imperial family used to picnic; the Cascatinha Waterfall; the Mayrink Chapel. It is the ideal spot for a picnic with its fantastic views, tropical vegetation, colourful butterflies and birds, and, if you are lucky, you may even see monkeys and sloths. A favourite weekend spot for the "cariocas" as in only a few minutes you escape the bustling city life and can enjoy the peaceful Nature of the forest. ? Pick-up in convertible jeeps at the hotel; ? Enter the Tijuca Forest through the tree farm where the contrast between the "Stone Jungle" and a tropical forest in the middle of a city can be seen; ? A 15 minutes stop at the "Cachoeira dos Macacos" (Monkey Waterfall) where the pax will have the opportunity to appreciate the syncretism existing in our country (the mix of african and european cults -- Macumba); ? Stop at "Vista Chinesa" (Chinese View) to take pictures. There, we explain the history of the reforestation process of the Tijuca Forest and the importance of the Mata Atlântica (Atlantic Jungle); ? Mesa do Imperador (Emperor's Table) where the imperial family used to picnic; ? Stop at Cascatinha Waterfall for refreshments; ? Mayrink Chapel; ? Passengers will have straight contact with the local naturel and a natural shower !!; ? Return by the "Açude da Solidão" (Lonliness dam) towards São Conrado, through Estrada das Canoas (Canoes road), where the pax will watch the hang-gliding flights.
